BRK 148

BRK 148 - 1935 Nash Ambassador 8 Sedan
The newly designed body featured what Nash termed 'Aeroform Design' in keeping with models from some other manufacturers, notably Chrysler's Airflow, although Nash stopped short of fully enclosed frontal bodywork. Prices ranged from just under $900 for the Advanced Six, rising to $1240 for the Ambassador Eight.
Our rendition is finished in Grenada Gray.

BRK 147

BRK 147 - 1952 Cadillac 62, 4 Door Sedan
1952 marked Cadillac's 50th anniversary and so this year's models were dubbed The Golden Anniversary Cadillacs. Gold badgework to front and rear celebrated this landmark.Although styling changes were minimal, numerous improvements were made under the skin.
There were three series available on three different wheelbases. By far the most popular was the 62 and the four-door sedan outsold all other body styles combined.
Our rendition is finished in Black.

BRK 146

BRK 146 - 1933 Stutz DV-32 Victoria Convertible
Against all odds, the DV-32 model appeared in 1931, the model name being derived from the 32 valve dual overhead cam engine. Various body styles were offered. In 1933 Stutz sold just over 100 cars and the end was inevitable. In 1937 the company went bankrupt and by the following year the name of Stutz joined the automotive history books.
Our rendition is finished in Silver.

BRK 145

BRK 145 - 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood 4-Door Wagon
Among the extensive line-up for Chevrolet in 1959 were four wagon series. At the top was the Nomad, supported in descending order by the Kingswood, Parkwood and Brookwood. The entry level Brookwood, which was the wagon equivalent to the Biscayne sedan started at just over $2,500 for a two door with the four door selling for a little more. Available with 6 or V8 power, these large handsome wagons proved popular with the buying public.

BRK 144

BRK 144 - 1935 Studebaker Dictator 4-Door Sedan
In 1934 Studebaker had introduced a streamlined design across all models. For 1935 the design was further refined and the number of model choices increased. The Dictator Six offered no less than 13 body styles ranging from the three window coupe to the Dictator Land Cruiser. Our model is the Dictator Six 1-A series, the lowest priced sedan, which sold for $750. Nearly 12,000 examples of this model were produced during the 1935 model year. Our model is finished in Gulf Stream Blue Poly.

BRK 143

BRK 143 - 1955 Plymouth Belvedere 4-Door Suburban
American car-buying public were treated to brand new body styles and new colour schemes which saw sales figures soar. Two door, four door, hardtop, convertible and station wagon options were offered and the Belvedere Suburban was the top of the line wagon. Our model is finished in Mohave Brown Poly.

BRK 142

BRK 142 - 1957 Rambler Super Cross Country Station Wagon
To save costs the station wagon variant retained the saloon car's roof pressing and so the famous 'dip' made its bow. What had started out as a cost-saving exercise became a much imitated design feature. With double and triple tone colour schemes the new Ramblers were an instant hit with both motoring press and public, the distinctive 'basket handle' colour divide being a first for the industry.

BRK 141

BRK 141 - 1937 Lincoln Model K, 7-Passenger Saloon
In 1937 the Model K received a major redesign that would carry the car to its eventual demise in 1940. The factory-built sedan, which we have modelled, received a 'fastback' rear deck, which only lasted for one year. Moving the headlamps into the wings echoed Zephyr and the lowlier Ford & Mercury designs. Our model is finished in Evergreen Poly.

BRK 140

BRK 140 - 1954 Hudson Hornet Convertible
The Hornet Convertible Brougham, to use its full title, was the most expensive model in the Hornet range at just under $3,300. With production figures of just over 24,000 for the whole Hornet range, the convertible was a rare sight even when new. With the wire wheel option and full leather trim the Hornet convertible was a fitting model for the final Stepdown cars that would be replaced for 1955 by a Nash-sourced range. Our Hornet is finished in Royal Red with matching interior.

BRK 139

BRK 139 - 1967 Chevrolet Corvair Monza
The Corvair had two major phases, with the original design running from 1960 to 64 and the second generation lasting until 1969 when it was finally laid to rest.Styling was unlike anything else with the original inspiring designs by Rootes in the UK with the Hillman Imp and Fiat in Italy with the 1300 and 1500 saloons.Various body styles were offered from the four door sedans through hardtops and convertibles to wagons and the VW type 2-inspired Greenbriar, Corvan and Rampside pick-up.

BRK 138

BRK 138 - 1955 Chrysler Windsor Station Wagon
I
n 1955 Chryslers were all new along with other marques from the Corporation. Designed by Virgil Exner the new models carried the slogan, 'The 100 Million Dollar Look'. There were four body styles, four door sedan, station wagon and two hardtops. The Nassau was a low-line hardtop and the Windsor a high-line. Our model is finished in Canyon Tan with a Desert Sand roof.

BRK 137

BRK 137 - 1956 Pontiac Chieftain 870 4-Door Sedan
Pontiac styling was all new for 1955. Sharing much of its underpinnings with Chevrolet and based on General Motor's 'A' body, the aim for 1955 was increased sales for Pontiac. New V8 engines meant top speeds of over 100mph with the 0-60 dash of around 12 seconds. For 1956 changes were relatively minor. Front end styling was slightly cleaner, a four door hardtop joined the range, and the V8 was upgraded. Our rendition is finished in Chesapeake Blue Metallic.

BRK 136

BRK 136 - 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster Sedan Delivery
The 1947 Chevrolet line-up marked the penultimate year of a design that really started in 1940. Over the ensuing years either side of the Second World War, each year saw detail modifications both mechanical and in styling.Offered in two door coupe, two and four door sedans, two door Aerosedan, convertible, station wagon and sedan delivery versions, the range offered something for everyone. The Sedan Delivery was very popular with small businesses and most were driven into the ground making this model very rare today.

BRK 135

BRK 135 - 1955 Hudson Hornet 4-Door Sedan
V8 engines built by Packard with minor alterations to make them different from Clipper units ensured performance was reasonable but due to AMC's lack of enthusiasm for NASCAR the track successes of the old step-down models were not to be repeated. Despite disquiet from die-hard Hudson enthusiasts who labelled the new car the 'Hash', over 45,000 Wasps and Hornets were sold during 1955, over a third up on the previous year. Our rendition is finished in Coral Red.

BRK 134

BRK 134 - 1955 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall
The Carryall was only offered with standard trim. With full width bodywork, the lower part of which was similar to the striking Cameo pick-up, the Carryall was a very modern design that influenced commercial design for years afterwards. There was a choice of panel rear doors or a split window and tailgate. Our rendition is finished in Granite Gray.

BRK 128A

BRK 128A - 1952 Cunningham C-3 Continental Coupe
Briggs Cunningham, buoyed by racing success at LeMans, decided in 1951 to make a road car. The initial plan was to build a sports car that could easily be adapted for racing. After some costing was carried out where it was realised that the cars would be far too expensive to make, Cunningham contacted Vignale in Italy and a deal was struck to build a sports car that could combine Italian design with American motive power. The bodywork, designed by Michelotti in collaboration with Vignale, bore a close resemblance to some Ferraris and the chrome strips sweeping from the grille to the base of the windscreen were a hallmark common to these other designs.

BRK 128 - 1952 Cunningham C-3 Continental Coupe
Production Run : 2006 - 2007.......

BRK 127

BRK 127 - 1934 Studebaker Landcruiser
The Land Cruiser, which is the subject of our model, was a beautiful car designed by Raymond Loewy. The Land Cruiser was surely inspired by the fabulous Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow show car of 1933. The four piece rear window, fender skirts and sweeping lines were light years ahead of anything else on the market. Two-tone paint combinations were available as were wing mounted spare wheels.

BRK 126

BRK 126 - 1936 Pierce-Arrow Convertible
Pierce-Arrows gradually grew in size as the years progressed and one of the marque's famous styling features, headlamps mounted on top of the front wings (fenders) appeared in 1914. In 1932 the V12 engine appeared to compete with other luxury brands. The following year saw significant developments in the fortunes of the company.

BRK 125

BRK 125 - 1953 Nash-Healey Roadster
Pininfarina designed the 1953 Nash-Healey and the cars had a complicated build process. Engines were shipped from the USA to Healey in Britain. Here the chassis and running gear came together before the completed chassis were shipped to Italy where Farina built the bodies. The completed cars then returned to the USA. Altogether 150 of these cars were produced with a further 90 hardtop versions following in 1954 when production eventually ended. In total just over 500 Farina-bodied cars were built.

BRK 123

BRK 123 - 1954 Plymouth Belvedere Suburban
Virgil Exner arrived on the scene and revised the line-up for 1953, modifying the existing designs where possible.1954 saw minor revisions, which helped sales. The so called 'Hy Style' failed to set sales figures alight. This would happen in 1955 when Exner's new models resulted in Plymouth's best ever sales success. Our model represents the top of the line Suburban for 1954, a year when nearly 10,000 wagons found homes.

BRK 122

BRK 122 - 1939 La Salle 5 Window Coupe
The Series 50 Coupe was the lowest price model in the line-up at just over $1,200. Running boards were an option and the coupe could be ordered as a two or four passenger model. It was the second-best seller in the range with over 2,500 finding homes during the model year.

BRK 121

BRK 121 - 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Fiesta Staion Wagon
The Golden Rocket Super 88 Fiesta four door hardtop, to give it its full name, shared basic body pressings with the Buick Caballero. At just over $3,500 the Fiesta was around $200 cheaper than its Buick stablemate and with sales of only just over 5,000 for the year it was much the rarer of the two cars, Caballero production topping 10,000.

BRK 120

BRK 120 - 1941 Chrysler Saratoga
For 1941 all models received revised frontal styling. The Business Coupe was the lowest priced Saratoga at $1250. It was also a very rare car with less than 800 Saratoga and New Yorker Business Coupes being built in total.

BRK 119

BRK 119 - 1950 Packard Deluxe Eight
This car was hailed as a success and even won styling awards from various organisations. However, within two years the design was looking outmoded and the term ‘Pregnant Elephant’ was being applied. 1951 would see a heavily revised design and Packard, alas never returned to its pre-war glory.

BRK 116

BRK 116 - 1931 Marmon Sixteen 2 Passenger Coupe

BRK 115

BRK 115 - 1961 Airstream Bambi

BRK 114

BRK 113

BRK 113 - 1954 Hudson Hornet Special Club Coupe
1954 was a significant year for Hudson. The line-up for this year was the best yet with the most radical changes in styling. The Hornet special appeared in Mid-Model year and was available as a Four-Door, Two-Door or Club Coupe.

BRK 103

BRK 103 - 1956 Plymouth Plaza 2 Door Club Sedan
The Plaza was a direct entry level Plymouth, but despite the restrained amount of trim and single colours it was still a very attractive automobile. In 1956 over 43,000 Club Sedans found buyers. 1956 also saw a break with tradition. A jet plane style hood ornament replaced the Mayflower sailing ship emblem that had appeared on every previous model since 1928.

BRK 102

BRK 102 - 1936 Hudson Terraplane Custom 6-62 4 Door Sedan
The Terraplane name dates back to 1932. The new Essex Terraplanes were introduced in a fanfare of publicity at a grand gathering in Detroit. This new range was intended to compete directly with Ford and Chevrolet as a lower priced, smaller alternative to the larger Hudson models.

BRK 101

BRK 101 - 1952 Muntz Jet - Top Down
In 1950 Earl Muntz bought the sports car operation from Kurtis for $200,000. Muntz made changes to the original design, the most obvious being a 13-inch increase in wheelbase thus making the car, now renamed the Muntz Jet, into a true four-seater.

All 1939 LaSalle’s had a shorter wheelbase than the preceding models and were equipped with a 130 horsepower Cadillac V8. Despite all the improvements and build quality to Cadillac standards, the LaSalle proved a poor seller. Less than 1,000 found buyers, compared with over 15,000 4-Door Sedans. 1940 would prove to be the last year of LaSalle production.

BRK 97

The fibreglass-bodied vehicle incorporated a number of radical ideas, including doors that slid forward into the front fenders and a three position convertible top.

BRK 90 - 1935 Plymouth 5 Window Coupe
The 1935 Plymouth model PJ was a completely new design. Its flowing curves owed much to the senior Chrysler line. De Luxe models were readily identifiable by their bullet-shaped chrome headlights.

V8 and like other models in the Imperial line-up equipment levels were lavish with electric powered seats and windows among the standard features. With a factory price of nearly $6000 the convertible was the most expensive model in the Crown range.

A really outrageous car at the time. Equipped with six way power seats and an abundance of chrome at each end, it weighed around 4,920 lbs and cost approximately $ 5,347. Ford’s brief to the designers was to out-glitz the Cadillacs in every way - but somehow they did not get it quite right.
