Mercury was a new line that appeared in November 1938. Given to dealers to compete against Pontiac and Dodge in the medium priced field. The Mercury was Edsel Ford’s Creation. The new edition was similarly styled to be Ford but featured a longer wheelbase and wider bodywork.
