The HC was based on the 1939 Vauxhall 12/4 Light 6 saloon, which appeared briefly immediately after the Second World War. The front end was all steel whilst the rear body was constructed of wood with steel panelling.
Bedford's new offering, whilst already looking dated, was very popular in both van and Utilecon versions. Small businesses were quick to order the PC which was, by the standards of the day, quick, handled well, and good value at just over £300 for the van with another £100 for the Utilecon. Specialist coachbuilders swiftly produced many variants including ambulances, police vans, and gown vans.
Our rendition is finished in White with a Western Counties livery.
