Volvo’s first sports car made its public debut at the Brussels Motor Show in 1955. It used PV 444 mechanical components in a tubular frame with a glass fibre body shell. It had a slightly tuned B14 engine boasting 70 bhp which promised a sporty accent. Styling, being ahead of it’s time, did not catch on at all with the public and sales were low. Production was closed down in March 1957 with only 67 cars built.
