PATTERN MAKING - DARREN

This is Darren's new toy.......I'll be honest, I haven't got a clue what it is.

But Darren was VERY excited by it's arrival.

I think it's some sort of 'Probe' but I'll find out from Darren when he gets back in.

PATTERN MAKING - Mr. P

Pinker is just finishing off the IPV 37 master ready for the moulds, but you've already seen that.

This is his next job, the LDM 80.
It's a 1972 Bristol 411   Series II.

This is the wood and resin version which will need to be turned into a brass version before the pattern making can begin.

SMALL PARTS CASTING - LITTLE ANDY

Andy has finished Fettling all of the bodies that were handed to him this week so he's been helping to cast the BRK 162 Baseplates.

SPRU-FAIL!!!!!!!

As you can see from the picture the spru has crumbled and fallen to pieces.

This is because the mould is 'Running too hot'.
Normally this would be corrected to allow the spru to form but in some cases, like this one, the higher temperature is necessary to get the actual parts to form properly.

Hence the mess!!!!

Rather coincidentally, Dave is also having to run a mould 'extra hot' to get these windshields to form.

Andy is using the highly technical and well used method for removing excess powder from the moulds....

This is the first test assembly of the new ROD 24.

SPELL CHECKER IS CHECKING SPELLING

Mr. John Roberts has graciously agreed to look over the proofs for the new 2010 catalogue.

He's making notes on all of the spelling/grammar errors.
